How to love your country?

Where were you born? Where are you from? Where is your hometown? This are questions normally asked by people when you met them for the first time. How do you response to this questions. Did you gave them straight answers or some other answers which generate another questions before you gave them the place you came from? Why? It all depends on how you feel about your origin...village,town or city....known or unknown to other people....but one thing for sure, you should be PROUD of the place where you come from..this place saw you growing from a baby to a naughthy mischieve kid...disturbing the neighbours, stealling fruits from ochards with your peers or playing hide and seek with the girls....playing football in the rain and being chased by your father...or walking miles crossing the bushes and jungles with your friends in the muddy tracks to schools just in time before the bell ring...on the way back home swimming at the nearby river....this places saw you grow to what you are NOW! So just tell them with proud where you come from. The answer you gave make your village, town and COUNTRY proud of you.

Me? I came from Parit, a small town in Central Perak District in the state of Perak, Malaysia. Do you know what 'Parit' means? Parit is a malay word meaning drain or a small canal. How on earth this place get its name? I'll tell you later. Do you want to know which part of Parit was I born? The place or village where I was born is called Kampong Padang Bola meaning Football or Soccer Field Village located in the Parit Municipal Town Council about 1.5 km from Parit Town. The Municipal Town football field is located in this village, so that's how it gets the name. I am a fanatic soccer fan of the local team and our state team but sadly I am a kaki bangku meaning my leg is not good at kicking football or unable to play soccer.

I am proud of this town and the place where I was born... their names are unique and people find it easy to recognize and remember me when I told them I came from Parit....there were several other of my friends with the same or similar name at the local University where I obtain my degree...so they called me zulparit....a name which associate me with my origin! I'm proud of it. What about you?

Tell me where you came? Is your name associated with the place where you were born? Tell me your childhood experienced there? Do you love your country?

Untill then, take care...

zulparit.
